2018 Volunteer Conference
We are holding our 5th annual Volunteer Conference and this year we will be at Crickley Hill on Saturday, July 21st. Crickley is home to a SSSI grassland bosting a beautiful population of wildflowers, with 5,000 years of rich human history and spectacular views of the Severn Vale, it's a date not to miss!
Volunteers who attend this year will also get to hear about our pine marten reintroduction feasibility study from Andrew Stringer our Pine Marten Project Manager. If approved we will be reintroducing the species into the Forest of Dean.
There will also be news from Greystones about the exciting opening of our new visitor centre, cafe and the hard work of our Greystones volunteers. With further speakers being announced shortly there is plenty to enjoy.
We will again host a buffet lunch with the famous Simon Weaver brie followed by a guided tour of Crickley Hill in the afternoon. With the chance to see the rare chalk hill blue butterfly, adders, carline thistle and bee orchids. With plenty of archaeology including an Iron Age Hill Fort.
The morning presentations will be held in Birdlip village hall in Birdlip. We will be serving hot drinks from 10:10am so join us for a hot drink and a biscuit before our first speaker at 10:30am. You can book your place online, via email at volunteering@gloucestershirewildlifetrust.co.uk.or call 01452 383333.
