Concerts in the Courtyard presents Madcat Ruth and John Churchville
Peter Madcat Ruth is a Grammy Award-winning virtuoso harmonica player based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. But Madcat doesnt just play harmonica, he also sings, and plays ukulele, guitar, high-hat, and jaw-harp. Madcat will be accompanied by John Churchville, a specialist in Indian tabla drumming.
Concerts in the Courtyard is an eclectic series of musical concerts featuring some of the finest musicians in the state and from across the country. All shows are held on Thursday evenings in the great-sounding and beautiful flower-lined courtyard behind the Old Town General Store. (In case of inclement weather, the show will be held inside at the MICA Gallery at 1210 Turner Street in Old Town.) Tickets are $15/$9 students and available in advance at the store and at the door. A portion of the proceeds benefit Music is the Foundation, supporting music programs in Mid-Michigan classrooms and communities.
Heres a nice article and interview about our concerts from Eva Niehouse, an MSU student.
