Raw Materials Series C (2018 Fury Factory Festival)
Once every two years, foolsFURY stages an electrifying gathering of collaborative theater makers from around the country, a truly national hub for ensemble theater work on the West Coast.
The Raw Materials portion of the festival presents works-in-progress from some of the most innovative devised theater companies, both locally and from across the nation. This is a rare opportunity for new work to gain critical feedback through performance and audience engagement, and audiences get to see multiple artists creations for a single ticket price.

Hope Mohr Dance (San Francisco, CA) Leaving the Atocha Station
Hope Mohr Dance creates, fosters and presents outstanding art at the intersection of the body and the brain. At this years FURY Factory, they are presenting an excerpt from a new dance theater adaptation of Ben Lerner's 2011 novel, "Leaving the Atocha Station," a postmodern exploration of the instability of meaning through the eyes of a young American artist in Madrid. Through movement and text, two performers explore the modern struggle to be present. Featuring Christian Burns and Wiley Naman Strasser.

Square One Collective (New York, NY) No Place
Square One Collective is an international collective of artists committed to creating compelling, relevant and original works of theatre that respond to stories and issues related to today's globalized world. Their are driven by their curiosity about all things human, our interest in cross-cultural exchange and our hunger for discovering new ways of expression. In No Place, three people play a game...in 2075. In a world where physical existence seems imminently impossible, a political exile, a former radical and a climate refugee go in search of the promised land; a virtual utopia. Alliances are made and broken as personal visions cross and collide in a social experiment that begins to chip away at their identities. Inspired by today's ever-changing cultural, technological and political climate, No Place investigates the human need to survive, to outlast, to exist, asking the question: What happens to us, as humans, when we are in search of a perfect community?

ReAct (Richmond, CA) Dracula
RE:ACT is composed of alumni from the educational programs of American Conservatory Theatre and other local Bay Area artists. The company produces world premieres of new plays. RE:ACT is dedicated to making the creative process cooperative, fun, supportive, innovative, and delightfully surprising. They ground ourselves in reality, while letting their imaginations roam free. Dracula is a beloved part of our zeitgeist, a story told and retold in print, on stage, and cinematically countless times since its publication in 1897. Inherently theatrical, it is filled with thrilling, chilling, moving, and iconic images and events. RE:ACTs Dracula distills key moments from the novel into singular vignettes incorporating music, dance, movement, text, magic, lipsyncing, shadow puppetry, and film. The piece emphasizes the bravery and intelligence of its female characters, traditionally portrayed as one-dimensional victims.
