HyTee Golf Club presents a Evening of Jazz & Poetry sponsored by the HyTee Jr Little League Golf Club.
Come out and enjoy an evening of Jazz and Poetry featuring local artist from the Seattle area. This event will be held at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute located in Seattle Central area. The entertainers for the evening will be:
*Josephine Howell, a long time Seattle entertainer that have performed at numerous clubs and venues, locally and around the world.. Josephine loves all styles of music. Gospel, being her first love, but also sing jazz, rhythm and blues, classical and pop. Josephine wIll keep the house rocking!
*Makini Magee has been singing in the Seattle area since 1989. She has wowed jazz enthusiasts from the neighborhood bistros to Jazz Alley, as well as performing nationally. Makini' love for different styles of music is apparent. Her engaging smooth delivery is reminiscent of a time when Jazz was King. *Owuor Arunga is a world renowned trumpet player. Owuor attended Garfield High school and was the first chair trumpet player in what is the most prestigious high school jazz band in the country. He has sold over 27 million records according to the International Academy of America. Owuor has performed on the largest stages in the world with artists such as Madonna, Lil John, Jennifer Hudson and The Heavy to name a few.
*Geneiva Arunga (Dadabassed) is a Political Activist, Spoken Word Artist, Linguist and Writer. At the age of fourteen, Genieva worked for African Youth United to build her bond between her African roots and her American location. Since then she has been writing poetry and raps for the purpose of bringing people together and addressing various Social issues that plague her Seattle community and the globe. Genieva is set to release her debut EP.
*Phyllis Talley voice will touch the very core of your being with her sultry, smoky, soulful sound. Get ready for the ride of your life when in a room with this powerful, outstanding songstress. You are guaranteed to have a full night of entertainment.
*BluMeadows brings the magic of music through his voice and guitar, which he picked up at an early age. Blue plays guitar, he sings and write. Has performed in the Northwest with Dave Lewis, Sundance, Obo Addy, and his own groups Psycotazia, 8lbs and 9 oz. Blu invites you to "open your heart, your mind and soul. " Listen".
