New World String Project features extraordinary instruments and a unique blend of heartwarming music. Four highly skilled and well known multi-instrumentalists have joined forces to create an exciting weave of music rooted in the Celtic, Nordic and American folk traditions. Lisa Lynne is a multi-instrumentalist and performer who has gained worldwide recognition for her original music featuring the Celtic harp. She specializes in traditional acoustic folk instruments and is widely acclaimed for composing memorable and heartwarming melodies that transcend category and genre. She composes heartwarming melodies on the WindhamHill/Sony music labels that have repeatedly placed in the Top 10 & Top 20 on the Billboard New Age music charts. Her work in Therapeutic music has gained recognition from NBC, CNN, and the Wall Street Journal. Lisa's was named one of the 50 most inspiring woman by Los Angeles magazine.
Aryeh Frankfurter is also a renowned Celtic harper and multi-instrumentalist who went from classical training in his youth to virtuosic progressive rock violin and eventually to intricate Swedish folk and Celtic Music. Since 1994, Aryeh has been delighting audiences around the globe with his passionate, enduring and evocative music. His uncommon approach to the Celtic harp and Swedish Nyckelharpa, his numerous critically and commercially successful albums have earned him credit as a musician, recording and performance artist of extraordinary talents and abilities.
Aryeh and Lisa Lynn have recorded numerous albums together, toured with the Windham Hill Winter Solstice Tour, and also collaborated on albums and international performances repeatedly with Celtic bard and extraordinary harpist Patrick Ball amongst others.
John Weed, fiddler for Mollys Revenge, Story Road, and Little Black Train, is a classically-trained violinist whos spent the last 20 years immersed in various fiddle styles. John lived in Ireland in 2000 and taught fiddle workshops at the Flowing Tide International Music School in Doonbeg, County Clare. He has honed his skills since, attending the Frankie Kennedy Winter School in Dunlewey, County Donegal where he studied with Ciaran OMaonaigh and Dermot Mcloughlin. With an affinity for American fiddle styles, John explores the connections between Irish, Scottish, and old time fiddle.
Stuart Mason is known for his authentic vocals and nimble skills on guitar, mandola, and banjo. He has won awards for traditional singing (Goleta Old-Time Fiddlers Convention), mandola (Topanga Banjo and Fiddle Contest), and songwriting (West Coast Songwriters Association). He is a member of the Celtic band Mollys Revenge, and has performed at festivals in China, Scotland, Ireland, and many of the United States.
The performance is enhanced by the enchanted ambiance of candle light and fire light of the Swedenborgian Church, a National Historic Monument and unique gem of Arts&Crafts genius and awe-inspiring beauty that only seats 100. Consequently tickets are very limited.
