ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 1
**Two-night engagement**

Beauty. Art. Flamboyance. Love. Stuggle. Fame. TacoTown
Theatre Company and The Overtime Theater proudly present a relocated extension of the solo musical comedy ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol, 1 starring solo theatre artist Jade Esteban Estrada.

The 75-minute musical comedy is presentation of the history of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people as told through the voices of Sappho, Michelangelo, Oscar Wilde, Gertrude Stein, Sylvia Rivera and Ellen DeGeneres. Book, music and lyrics by Jade Esteban Estrada. Additional musical arrangements by Tracy Stark. The show is directed by Jeff Wills. Costume design by Aliza Washabaugh.

ICONS is the first of five installments written and performed by Jade Esteban Estrada, who began his solo theatre career at Jump-Start Performance Company in 1997. Estrada is the creator of 19 solo shows including A Lullaby for Ryan: The History of HIV/AIDS in America and Pico de Gallo. ICONS made its world debut at the Columbus National Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival in Columbus, Ohio in September 2002. The Columbus Dispatch calls ICONS compelling...Broadway-caliber. Estrada knows how to draw an audience in and hold them in the palm of his hand, writes Deborah Martin of The San Antonio Express-News. Without a doubt, the best entertainment dollars I spent this year went to ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 1 with Jade Esteban Estrada, writes the Tampa Bay Gazette. TacoTown Theatre Company previously produced the show last week at Woodlawn Pointe.

Last year, ICONS played a three-run at the 2016 Fringe World Festival in Perth, Western Australia. Perths Queer Av writes, [ICONS is] funny, full of talent and educational! In April, the show played The Outburst Performance Gallery in Kansas City, Missouri. Entertaining and brash, ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History Of The World, Vol.1 is an opulent time capsule reveal onstage. Wildly talented and energetic, Jade Esteban Estrada's musical comedy is a cache of goods...a timeless celebration, writes Maria Vasquez Boyd of ArtSpeak Radio KKFI 90.1 FM in Kansas City.
