SAT JUNE 30th 2018 Santa Cruz Pier-to-Pier 10K Swim
Welcome to this years Santa Cruz Pier-to-Pier. This year, the swim will go from Capitola to Santa Cruz. (WETSUITS, FINS, HAND PADDLES, AND PULL BUOYS ARE NOT PERMITTED)
Monterey Bay Swimming Association will provide timing, course marking, and on-the-water boat support in the event you need assistance. Every swimmer must provide a human powered safety paddler - Kayak, Paddleboard, or SUP. Paddlers can bring their own vessel or kayaks can be rented locally in Santa Cruz. We will meet and check in at the Santa Cruz Wharf (the Finish). We will ride/share and shuttle everyone and kayaks to the start in Capitola. If you wish, you may also drop kayaks off in Capitola before going to check in. We'll have someone on the beach to watch them.
SATURDAY JUNE 30TH
Timeline (fog permitting an on time start and subject to change):
- 6-7 AM Park/check in Santa Cruz Wharf at Cowell Beach (FINISH location).
- 7:00 AM Shuttles to Capitola Beach (START location).
- 8:00 AM Safety and course briefings on Capitola Beach
- 8:15 AM Launch padders (beach launch)
- 8:30 Swim start
- Finish and Check Out: 11:30 to 1:30 pm at Cowells Beach (or later if there is a fog delay)
This swim is limited to 20 swimmers. Once the registration is full, we will send you additional information about paddlers, kayak rentals, course map, and parking.
The swim will have a 5 hour cut-off time. If you have not reached the Santa Cruz Wharf within 5 hours, you may be picked up or repositioned. Wetsuits, hand paddles, fins, and pull buoys are NOT permitted.
