Genticorum - with Elizabeth and Ben Anderson opening
I am constantly amazed at how much all of the great "roots-based" music forms are so much more enjoyed across those genres today. Well, this trio has long been one of my favorite Quebecois bands and their music moves me in ways that are similar to how I enjoy pure Celtic music.
Over the past 18 years Genticorum has become a fixture on the international world, trad, folk and Celtic music circuit. Known for its energy and its stage presence, Genticorum has just released a new CD, which will be celebrated in style in this concert.
Firmly rooted in the soil of their native land, the energetic and original traditional power trio also incorporates the dynamism of todays North American and European folk cultures in their music. They weave precise and intricate fiddle, flute and accordion work, gorgeous vocal harmonies, energetic foot percussion and guitar accompaniment into a big and jubilant musical feast. Their distinctive sound, sense of humour and stage presence makes them a supreme crowd pleaser.

In addition for the afternoon, we are delighted to welcome back the duo of Elizabeth and Ben Anderson, Scottish fiddle and cello duo, has an enthusiastic following in the Boston area and throughout New England. Blending Scottish tunes with lively rhythms and innovative harmonies, they create a sound rooted in tradition, inspired by the contemporary, and completely original. On stage, they captivate audiences with their ability to effortlessly communicate musical nuances as only siblings can. Check them out below...
