Altoona First Frontier Festival
The first annual Altoona First Frontier Festival will bring artisans, food trucks, refreshments and great Americana music to the outdoor stage at Altoona Pa.'s Railroaders Memorial Museum on Saturday, July 28. The event will feature national recording artists The Hillbenders, doing a bluegrass cover of The Who's classic rock opera "Tommy." Co-headlining will be The Commonheart (rock and soul), a Pittsburgh band bursting onto the national scene.Local bands Railtowne (country) and Mama Corn (bluegrass) fill out the bill. General admission tickets are $22 in advance (until July 4) then $25 through the day of the show. VIP tickets, which include private bathrooms and lounges, priority seating and a concert T-shirt, are $50 and available in advance only. No glass, bottles, cans or outside food. No coolers. Carry along lawn chairs permitted outdoors only. Must show valid ID to purchase alcohol. This is a RAIN OR SHINE event. The title sponsor for this event is Altoona First Savings Bank.
