Twelve semifinalists compete during the day for a performance slot in the Finals Concert and a chance to win cash prizes and performance awards. Semifinalist performances are on the half hour between 9 am and 4 pm - free and open to the public.

Master Classes with the 2018 Stulberg Judges and local musicians are also free and open to the public. These classes take place in Dalton Center on the WMU campus on Saturday, May 19, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Competition judges Anthony Ross (cello) and Scott St. John (violin-viola) will preside at the performance classes. Judge Aaron Dworkin will make a special presentation: Intro to Arts Entrepreneurship.
