Historic Homes & Summer Gardens
The Hancock New Hampshire Woman's Club will sponsor a Historic Homes & Summer Gardens Tour on Saturday, July 21, 2018.

Five distinctive homes and six gardens will be open from 10AM to 4PM.  The homes date from  late 18th to early 19th centuries  and are fine examples of  how historic grace and charm can be retained while being thoughtfully updated for modern living.

The distinctive gardens are of various styles. Visitors will appreciate the beauty of each unique design from traditional English to ones attracting pollinators or cultivating therapy.

Noted gardener, landscape designer and author, Margaret Hensel will be on-site at one of the tours gardens and will speak on Creating the Cottage Style at 11AM & 2PM.

The Hancock Historical Society and the Hancock Meetinghouse have under gone major preservation projects during the last several years. These will be open to attendees and people involved in these projects will be on hand to share their experiences.

Also to be enjoyed; a Craft Boutique and Sale.  Numerous craftsmen and artisans from the area will offer an array of one-of-a-kind works with a variety of price tags.

Lunches will be available for purchase in advance, but attendees will also be invited to bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic on the Green. Music from accomplished musicians will entertain picnickers and actors from the Project Shakespeare theatrical company will perform.

Finally, to cap off the day, guests can unwind with a glass of wine and savory morsels at New Hampshires oldest inn, The Hancock Inn  & Fox Tavern, circa 1789.  Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 or at the door for $20..

All proceeds benefit the Club's Community Needs and Woman's Scholarship Fund.
