Foundry Hall presents: Dance of Hope Workshop and Performance
Foundry Hall of South Haven presents DANCE OF HOPE, a touring program employing the transforming power of music and dance to raise awareness and improve the way of life for children in need. From the pearl of Africa DANCE OF HOPE offers a rich cultural experience of passionate rhythms, sensational sounds, exhilarating and colorful choreography, all swirled in gorgeous and infectious smiles of children aged age 11-17, employing the transformational power of music and dance to raise awareness and improve the way of life for many children that are orphaned, displaced or living in poverty. Featuring hands on music instruments workshops, singing and dancing workshops, discussions and performance, the touring group shares African history on music, social and economic life, and how music is a powerful tool in community. This event is made possible in part by a generous contribution from the Oak Room at the Citadel in Benton Harbor. Dance of Hope is produced through the collaboration of M-Lisada, directed by Ugandan musician and educator Kinobe.
