'Whose place' explores peoples changing experience of the urban environment, mediated through its constantly transforming surfaces. It takes us from a tight tribe in near-pristine forest to the inhabitants of a dense metropolis attempting to navigate complex social relations.
'Whose place' looks at the struggles of aboriginal inhabitants, invaders, incomers, settlers and migrants; how they use and change space, yet are continually constrained by it. The piece addresses contemporary concerns of identity and ownership as archetypal characters weave their ways through time, always asking themselves the question Whose place is this?
