Maple Sugar Fun!
Maple Sugaring/Tree Tapping
Sunday, March 4 at 10 a.m.-noon
Instructor: Westporter Carl McNair
Ages: 7 and up (Adults/Kids/Families)
Fee: $40 per family (includes $20 materials fee for tapping kit)
Join us at Wakeman Town Farm for a fun and informative experience with maple sugaring enthusiast Carl McNair and associate Julie. Carl and Julie will teach young and old alike about the joys of backyard maple sugaring and tree tapping. This experience includes tree identification, learning when to tap, and what equipment to use, plus tips on evaporation and bottling. The fee includes materials to tap your own tree, which we will practice during the course. Class is mainly outdoors; please wear boots or shoes that can get muddy/wet.
