The Better Halves

The Better Halves are an Austin-based husband and wife duo reminiscent of June Carter and Johnny Cash. Jimmy Joe and Chrissie have been a staple at one of Austins largest venues for over a decade, where their funny and touching duets, using clever lyrics and real boy-girl banter, uplift audiences with laughter and knowing nods.
Jimmy Joe has a terrific talent for storytelling (one of his car songs was featured on NPRs Car Talk) while wife Chrissies whimsical, melodic songwriting earned her a spot on Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion. Playing rousing Chet Atkins-influenced instrumentals (including one featuring 4 hands on 1 guitar), they really know how to wow audiences. Their guitar harmonies are amazing, their vocals blend so well together, and their lyrics are so thoughtfully put together. The Better Halves songs just make me happy, raves Les from Houston. We think youll agree!
