The big news at the Yiddish Book Center is not how many books we've saved but how many young people are reading them. In this lively presentation, Aaron Lansky, the Yiddish Book Center's founder and president, presents the inside story on a whole range of new initiatives, including the long-awaited release of Isaac Bashevis Singer's books in Yiddish, an astounding discovery in an attic in Poland, the recording of Yiddish interviews in Brazil, the continued unearthing of lost literary treasures by the Center's translation fellows, and the highly-leveraged workshops that are changing the face of Jewish learning and literature for a new generation. Aaron promises to leave ample time for audience questions and discussion.
This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited. RSVP required.
