Spring 2018 Sugarloaf California Naturalist Program
If you enjoy exploring and learning about our local ecology, engaging in citizen science, and sharing your knowledge with others, this program is for you!

The 45+ hour course combines a science curriculum with guest lecturers, field trips and project-based learning to explore the unique ecology and natural history of the Inner Coastal Range of Sonoma and Napa. Local guest experts will attend classroom sessions and field trips utilizing the outdoor learning environment of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. The Spring 2018 course will emphasize the recent fires in our Sonoma Valley parks.

Meeting Days & Times: Tuesday evenings with the exception of 3 thursday evenings (March 15, April 12 & May 1)  from March 15-May 15, 6-8:30pm. Evening classes meet at the Robert Ferguson Observatory at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. There will be 6 Saturday field trips held on March 24, April 7, April 21, April 28, May 5 and May 12 at various locations circumferencing the Sonoma Valley including Sugarloaf, Jack London and Annadel State Parks. All fieldtrips are manadatory and run from 8:30am to 1:30 pm.

Fee: $445 registration
Need-based scholarships available. Students must purchase The California Naturalist Handbook (2013, UC Press).
