Diaspora Monologues: A Musicology (Day 1)
Diaspora Monologues: A Musicology is a performance series exploring the global and local soundscape of Chicagos African diaspora communities through the music and stories of local musicians, DJs and Afro-music lovers.
Talented Ghanaian and Nigerian musicians make up this dynamic group with over 30 years of experience and specializing in a variety of music including Highlife, Hiplife, Jazz, Funk, Fusion African, Latin, R&B, Classical, Afro beats, Palm Wine Music, Reggae, Caribbean and Gospel.
An evening of cultural immersion for all the senses, the show will include Ghanaian and Nigerian cuisine at Simi's, music, poetry, narratives and reflections on musical roots and transformations from the band.
