Introduction by show creator & writer John McGie

John McGie: A vegetarian caffeine addict with no fashion sense beyond what he gets for Christmas, this cereal box scholar has been referred to as a once in a life time voice and that guy over there. Dedicating his life to the pursuit of the perfect run-on sentence John has received awards for Significant Artistic Achievement, Original Script and Visual Concept, Excellence in Theatre Creation and Best Film in a Theatre Festival. John has no idea what theyre talking about

Performances by:

Sara Bynoe, Kathy Daniels, Mariel Kathryn Hunter, Jacques Lalonde, Siobhan McCarthy, Amy Reid, Kett Turton & Lori Watt.

Sara Bynoe: Sara Bynoe is an actor, writer, and producer. She's well known for her comedy shows Teen Angst Night and Say Wha?! Readings of Deliciously Rotten Writing which have been a part of comedy festivals like the Vancouver Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot (Seattle), All Jane No Dick (Portland), and Latitude (UK). You might recognize her from a commercial or two. She's a graduate of Studio 58. Find out about her shows and all her social media handles at www.SaraBynoe.com

Kathy Daniels: Kathys most recent credits include the series Six, Dolores in Rules to Move By and her award winning performance in the role of Annie, in the play, Kayak (Best Actress at North Shore Zone Festival).

Mariel Kathryn Hunter: Hunter is an actor, writer, director and producer originally from the East Coast. Favourite credits include: Sarah, Time Stands Still (Havana Theatre), Lysistrata (Imperial Theatre) and her award winning one woman show I Want to Come Home (Funday Fringe Festival).

Jacques Lalonde: An actor/writer/producer/director/comic who has performed for over a million people across Canada and was a host at the 2010 Winter Olympics. He just finished a sold out run of Trump The Musical and you can see him on Shit Trump Did on Facebook and You Tube. He is a popular broadcaster on PocketLive with his show Jacques Talk where Anything can happen!. Its a bit like Howard Stern with a spiritual twist.  Jacques is also a graduate of Studio 58.

Siobhan McCarthy: McCarthy is a bold, innovative, transdisciplinary artist and educator who is constantly devising new original theatre, film and performance art. She enjoys teaching, conducting experiments/ research whilst working independently and collaboratively with other artists.

McCarthy has been profiled and published in the Canadian Theatre Review where she was credited as being one of Canadas foremost cross-over artists. The University of York has documented her and archived her body of work as she has been identified as a trailblazer in Performance Creation across Canada.

McCarthy loves to perform. McCarthy is a master clown BLYSS. Cirque du Soliel scouted her in 2005 when she headlined the Toronto Festival of Clowns and has been offered several contracts with Cirque. She remains in their talent bank. Select favourite acting film and television credits include: The Haunting Hour, Fringe, The Twisted Slipper, F-Stop, Still Life, PARKED, Last Wedding, Drunken Bliss, and The Sound of Empties. Favourite Stage Credits include: Blyss in altered states- primal scream- the edge of consciousness, Kayla in Spiraling Within, A Dark Witch in Macbeth, The title role in Claire, Star, in Five Dollar Drinks and Andrea in Who Are You Calling Crazy!?!

Amy Reid: Amys Theatre history goes back to childhood.  As a young adult, she performed in a number of local theatre productions the most notable of which would be Berdine in Psycho Beach Party, Gina in Beautiful City and Emelia in Othello.  After a very LONG 20-year hiatus filled with travel and child rearing Amy returned to her true love, acting in her 40s with Between Shifts Theatre in Squamish.  Since then she has appeared as Gwen in Pause on Harmony, Ebenezer Scrooge in the gender bender performance of A Christmas Carol and most recently as Cassandra in Vanya Sonia Masha and Spike.  Finally taking the leap from stage to screen Amy can also be seen in Hallmarks A Country Wedding and as Patty in Signed Sealed and Delivered: Lost Without You.  Amy is also very excited to be in the early stages of development with Reunion Pictures on her self created TV series, Normie

I have loved every part of working on The Chair Series. Out of John McGies always twisted and ever surprising mind comes some of the most hilarious, absurd and beautiful glimpses into his characters worlds.   Any actor would love the chance to perform these pieces but to also have the unique pleasure of watching so many talented performers breath life into his work is the icing on the cake!

Kett Turton: Kett has been an actor of stage and screen for 20 years. These days you can catch him as Vampire Steve on iZombie, as well as popping up seemingly at random on shows like The Flash, Jessica Jones, Gotham, Motive and more!

Lori Watt: Lori Watt is an award winning Vancouver based Actor, Director, Writer and Producer of theatre and short films.  Select theatre credits include:  Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate, (CTC nomination for Best Actress), Sarah Palin and Jane Sanders in Trump: The Musical, Ms. Fleming in Heathers: the Musical (1st Canadian Production, which was nominated for 2 Jessie Richardson Awards), Liza in Lascivious Something (Fringe Drama MainStage), Lil in Particular Class of Women (Theatre BC award for Best Ensemble), Florence in The Odd Couple, Collette in Four Dogs and a Bone.

Lori is a co-founder of Frolicking Divas Theatre Company which brought SUP - A Series of Sassy Unproduced Works to the Havana Theatre last year.  She has also just wrapped a short film she is producing with Red Trike Media entitled Red Eye, Directed by S. Siobhan McCarthy.  This short was inspired by the monologue Christmas Red Eye written by John McGie and performed at a Chair Series event.  Look for it on the big screen soon. Thank you John for inspiring us all.
