What are the different ticket types?
FULL WEEK is Tuesday-Saturday, June 5-9, 2018
TWO DAYS is any two days you wish to attend
SINGLE DAY is one single day you wish to attend
What time does the Institute happen?
The Institute runs daily 9:30am - 5:30pm. The first and last half hour are seminars for full week participants, where we will digest the sessions, discuss what we're learning, and talk to each other about our work.
Why should I go to the full week instead of individual days?
Full week attendees stay an additional hour at the end of the day to debrief, make connections, critique, and discuss the speakers and topics of the day. Often participants report that the experience is more in-depth with the full week than with individual day attendance.
Full week attendees have, in the past, become somewhat of a bonded cohort getting to know each other, network and learn about each other's work, go through a week-long experienced together, and get deeper into the theory and overview of the entire experience.
Why isn't my discount code working?
Discount codes are for the full week registrations only. If you are trying to register for a full week and it still isn't working, contact the Summer Institute staff at cregs_si@sfsu.edu
How do I know if I should pay the professional, general, or student rate?
We have a flow chart here on our website that will take you through the process of determining which best fits your financial situation.
Why is the Institute such a low price?
Thanks to our generous sponsors, we are able to keep the cost of the Institute low for all participants. Week-long programs are usually $1500 or more! But we think this work should be out there in the world, and accessible to as many people as possible.
What is your refund policy? How do I request a refund?
All registration cancellations must go through Brown Paper Tickets directly, and you can contact them via email at support@brownpapertickets.com, or call them 24/7 at 1-800-838-3006 in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico. Registrations cancelled before April 15 will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations received after May 1st may not receive a refund, however you may transfer your registration to a friend. When you register for the Institute, you agree to these terms.
