Putnam County Spelling Bee
Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. Featuring a fast-paced, wildly funny and touching book by Rachel Sheinkin and a truly fresh and vibrant score by William Finn, this bee is one unforgettable experience.

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.

*This is an adult show with some mature themes

Audience members will be able to choose from 2 different Lunch Trays prepared by the CATHE Center's Cafeteria Lady - Gourmet Girl.  There will also be a dessert bar with an assortment of mini cupcakes and, of course, milk cartons.

** Tickets should be reserved no later than 48 hours in advance of desired performance.

Lunch Tray Choices are as follows and include a complimentary glass of wine:

Vegetarian:
Duo grilled cheese with sundried tomatoes on brioche bread, apple cinnamon parfait with cardamom walnuts, spinach artichoke and white bean dip with pretzels crisps, espresso brownie bite.

Non-vegetarian:
Beef tenderloin mini buns with tater tots and chipotle BBQ sauce, caramelized onion dip with carrot and kettle chips, tropical fruit skewer, mini chocolate chip cookies.

**Doors open at 6:15pm with food service starting at 6:30 for evening performances, 1:15pm with food service starting at 1:30pm for matinee performances.
