April Baroque Dance of the Month
Our April 2013 class is taught by Catherine Turocy Sunday, April 21, 2:00-3:30 pm California Center for the Arts, Escondido Dance Practice Room (Behind Music Museum) 340 North Escondido Boulevard Escondido, CA 92025
PLEASE NOTE: This month's class is being held at the above venue, not in the usual White Box at NTC!
What: 18th Century Dance Classes offered by The New York Baroque Dance Company, sponsored here in San Diego by The Musical Oratory Foundation
When: Every third Sunday of the month from February to June, 2:00-3:30PM. The course of study will culminate with our First Annual Baroque Ball to take place in June (TBA).
Cost: Only $15 per class!
Description: Learn the dances of the Baroque period. Some classes will have live music and other classes will draw from carefully selected recordings.
Who can come? Classes are open to all dance enthusiasts. Professional dancers, teachers, students, musicians, singers, and actors will find the classes particularly useful and illuminating. These are social and theatrical dances which are customarily tailored to everybody's individual ability and experience level. Open to young people and the young at heart, ages 13 to 103. Beginners welcome!
What do I wear? Please wear a flexible dance shoe, no street shoes are allowed in the studios. Casual dance or exercise clothing is recommended.
Can I come for one class only? Yes, please come as often as you like. Make sure you join us for our First Annual Baroque Ball in June. Make new friends and show off your newly acquired dance skills!
