Seattle Hip Hop Leadership Conference
4th Annual Seattle Hip-Hop Leadership Conference, Sat. Feb. 23rd at Seattle Central Community College will bring together leading figures in Seattle's Hip Hop and digital media communities.

This years event themed "Back 2 The Future" will explore the historical, present and future context, dynamics, impacts, and potential of hip-hop music and culture. The conference will address a range of topics from making a living in music to the international cross-cultural impact to the intersection of  hip hop and digital technology.

About the Seattle Hip-Hop Summit Youth Council
Seattle Hip Hop Summit Action Network Youth Council (SHSANYC) was established in August 2002 as a vehicle for youth empowerment and leadership development in the greater Seattle area. SHANYC is the Seattle affiliate of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) founded in 2001 by entertainment mogul Russell Simmons and civil rights veteran Dr. Benjamin Chavis. HSAN is the largest non-profit, national coalition of hip-hop artists, entertainment industry leaders, education advocates, civil rights proponents, and youth leaders united in the belief that Hip-Hop is an enormously influential agent for positive social change which must be responsibly and proactively utilized to fight the war on poverty and injustice.
