Citizen Jane album release, with Early Spirit
CITIZEN JANE is a Toronto-based folk-pop duo that evocatively weaves powerful vocal harmonies with innovative string textures to create an emotionally charged soundscape. Hailed a delight by Folk Radio UK, Reenie and Lea spark a uniquely intimate connection with all audiences. Their debut album, In the Storm, is a reflection on the value of human connection, touching on themes of war (internal & literal), displacement/isolation, self-doubt.. and an urge to embrace differences, unite, and act with love to make the world a little brighter. From sweet, hopeful viola & guitar melodies, to darker mandolin & cello musings, each song takes on a new character in their sonic journey.
EARLY SPIRIT is a Vancouver folk-rock quartet that has been described as "fast-rising" (the Georgia Straight) and a "coup-de-coeur" (Radio-Canada/CBC). Gabriel Dubreuil has come together with guitarist and singer J Knutson, from Spirit of the West, bassist Will Ross, and percussionist Ben Kelly to create an innovative musical fusion of jazz, Celtic, and north American fiddle traditions. They honour the spontaneity of improvised music while keeping the intimacy and pace of Celtic tunes. Early Spirit sails its way into your heart and soul.
