Holly Near Concert
Holly Near with John Bucchino will perform a concert to benefit the Arizona Community Land Trust.

Holly Near is a unique combination of entertainer, teacher, and activist. An immense vocal talent, Nears career as a singer has been defined by an unwillingness to separate her passion for music from her passion for human dignity. She is a skilled performer and an outspoken ambassador for peace who brings to the stage an integration of world consciousness, spiritual discovery, and theatricality.

John Bucchino's songs have been performed and recorded by renowned pop (Art Garfunkel, Judy Collins), theatre (Liza Minnelli, Patti LuPone, Kristin Chenoweth, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Audra McDonald), cabaret (Barbara Cook, Michael Feinstein), and classical (Yo-Yo Ma, Deborah Voight, Nathan Gunn), artists as well as The Boston Pops, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in venues including Carnegie Hall, The Metropolitan Opera, The Hollywood Bowl, The Sydney Opera House, Londons O2 Arena and The White House.

The Arizona Community Land Trust is changing how we live on the Earth. Aldo Leopold said it best, "We abuse the land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect."

This new form of land tenure shifts our relationship from "dominance over" to one of "partnership with" the Earth. The community land trust (CLT) is a membership based nonprofit that holds land in community stewardship. In most cases, CLT land is used to provide people without access to land an opportunity to meet their needs for affordable housing and food production.
