Coaching for Results with Nadia Rubaii and Munna Rubaii. Monday, February 26, 2018 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Borg Warner Room of the Tompkins County Public Library, E. Green St. at S. Cayuga St., Ithaca. Fee $70 and includes light refreshments.
Coaching has become an essential competency for leaders at all organizational levels. A strong leader-coach can guide individuals and teams through workplace challenges, help improve performance, and accelerate careers.
In this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals and practical techniques of coaching to strengthen your leadership skills and help your work team grow and succeed.
Attendees will: Learn the fundamental principles of leadership coaching and the skills necessary to coach others to high performance. Diagnose how best to respond to different employees, with particular emphasis on determining the circumstances under which coaching or delegation would be more appropriate. Learn how to deliver effective feedback that promotes constructive outcomes. Gain greater self-awareness through coaching and furthering your own professional development.
BIO Nadia Rubaii, Ph.D., is associate professor and chair of the Department of Public Administration at Binghamton University. She has more than 20 years of experience teaching graduate courses and professional workshops on all aspects of human resource management. She has worked with leaders of local government and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States and abroad to improve their hiring processes and decisions, overhaul their performance appraisal processes, increase communication skills among supervisors, and to more effectively manage increasing diversity within the workplace and in the community.
Nadia has given plenary presentations at numerous national and international conferences. She grew up in the Cortland-Ithaca area, attended school at what was then SUNY-Binghamton, and then worked for more than 15 years in southern New Mexico. She returned to upstate New York in 2004 to be closer to family members, several of whom still reside in Ithaca.
Munna Rubaii recently retired from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services after 32 years of service. Initially a direct care provider in both secure and limited secure juvenile residential facilities, she capped her state career as a training manager, responsible for supervising regional training centers and providing training to facilities and offices throughout central and northern New York. Munna has also worked as a private consultant since 1995. Munna is a certified practitioner of the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Step I and Step II. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a Master of Science degree from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
