Risk Management for your Farm - Cultivating Success

Operating a farm business is a complicated endeavor, and there are risks.
Learn to identify, prioritize and mitigate risk so you can focus on what you do best. We'll take a look at insuring your farm, IRS and labor law, plus a quick tour of food safety requirements.
The course will cover:
~Labor Law with speakers from WA Dept of Labor and Industries; including labor standards for Ag employers, Farm worker contracting vs. employment, Farm Internship program.
~Insuring your Farm, with Paul Ely of Country Financial; including info about Farm Bureau, why insurance is important, whats different about Farm Insurance, additional insureds, types of coverage and endorsements.
~Food Safety, including Food Safety Basics with Dayna Katula of Kitsap Public Health District, and a discussion of WA State Food Safety issues with Diane Fish, including HAACP Plans, GAP/GHP
~IRS Law, Schedule F, with Peggy Hall of Legacy Accounting and Software Training

Doors and registration open at 3:30 pm
Course fee $20
Register before December 16th.
Day-of-class registration $20 permitted on a space-available basis; cash or check only.
Light refreshments served, but please bring a sack lunch.
Parking available in student lot.
