BAD JEWS
A Big Wig Production is proud to collaborate with the Jewish Federation of Durham/Chapel Hill to present Joshua Harmon's biting comedy "BAD JEWS."  Bad Jews tells the story of three millennial, Jewish cousins who converge in a NYC apartment after the funeral of their "Poppy."  Poppy, a survivor of the Holocaust, moved to the United States in the late 1940s, and with no money to his name (and no wedding ring), presented his "chai" necklace to a beautiful American woman as a token of their love and engagement.  Upon Poppy's death, questions arise among the cousins as to who deserves Poppy's chai.
We hope you'll join us as this dark comedy explores how we, as humans, struggle to find our  identity, our faith, our belonging, how to relate to our family and how we respect and remember our elders. You will laugh, and you will leave with a very poignant message that will keep you talking for days and weeks to come.  This script is terrific.

Brian and Cindy Yandle (Producers) - The Yandles began A Big Wig Production in 2013.  Their first production - KINDERTRANSPORT - earned Best Ensemble of 2013 and Best Director nod for Brian in IndyWeek's annual "Best of" edition. Cindy is an artist with several showings of her work around the Triangle (works are currently on display at Sonorous Road Theatre). Brian is a local actor, director and producer, and is an all around great guy. You should give him lots of money to produce this play :)
