Cosmopolitans - Telemann and Leclair
Superstars of the Baroque, Telemann and Leclair were infamous for their synthesis of style, pulling together the corners of the continent through diverse musical works. Baroque violins, bassoon, and lute take flight with this cocktail of cosmopolitan compositions. Additional pieces by Guignon and Guillemain round out the program of sonatas and quartets.
The program is presented by Baroque Music Montana, which brings an international cast of musicians who specialize in early music to intimate venues in rural areas. Entertaining tales and tunes as well as refreshments complete an engaging evening.
Davina Clarke, baroque violin, Davina made her Wigmore Hall concerto debut with Rachel Podger in 2014. She has also toured extensively around Europe as co-leader of the European Union Baroque Orchestra, English Baroque Soloists, and the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra with John Eliot Gardiner.
