Portland based choreographer, dancer and teacher, Anita Menon (recipient a grant award from The Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC) of Oregon) is coming to Seattle to change your perception of this classic Shakespeare comedy.
This version of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will be like no other. Anita Menon's past innovation and experimentation with contemporary choreographic works fuels her vision to integrate a variety of dance styles from India such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak and native folk dances with traditional ballet, classic tap and modern hip hop. Combined with a diverse cast of actors, dancers and musicians from Portland and Seattle along with an array of musical styles including Classical, Indian Folk, Pop and Bollywood, this performance is sure to be a lively high energy dance and musical production telling the story of this all-time favorite comedy.
Prepare to be entertained on Sunday, June 23rd, 2013 at the Theatre at the Meydenbauer Center.
