Love Conquers All at Cathedral Immaculate Conception
Schola concert: Love Conquers All
This joyous concert will celebrate spring with rollicking Troubadour songs, enchanting medieval 'virelais,' rarely performed works by Landini, and glorious Elizabethan madrigals by Thomas Weelkes.
Excerpts from a French 'cantate' by Montéclair accompanied by violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord and two huge madrigals of 'Love and War' will be sure to rouse your spirits.
There will also be a dramatic work by Marc Antoine Charpentier: 'Amor vince ogni cosa.' Presented in the original Italian, this light-hearted 'pastoral' features lively ensembles and arias about the imaginary pastoral love lives from the Renaissance.
Pre-concert talk at 7:00 PM.
Concert will be performed in Falmouth and in Portland at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and the Cathedral of Saint Luke.
Seating is first come first serve, arrive early for best seating options. Doors open 45 minutes prior to performance.
Ticket sales will end 12 hours prior to concert start time, after that tickets will be available at the door, if available.
