Chronic Pain and Inflammation - Cause or Symptom?
Do chronic pain and inflammation start from an injury? What if there was no injury? What causes the inflammation? Does inflammation cause pain or does pain cause inflammation?
It seems like a case of the chicken and the egg. What comes first? What causes what? What part does your nutrition or lack of it play in inflammation? And what kinds of things do inflammation cause?
Chronic pain doesn't always have a specific diagnosis or a known cause. This is a health concern that is so common that it affects 1 in 5 people; almost every patient Dr. Peter Ford sees lists this as one of their issues. In spite of the wide variety of severity, location, length of time since started, possible causes, etc., the one thing that almost all chronic pain has in common is that it's associated with inflammation. Help also comes in many forms - and most people will try several, some even simultaneously - to get relief. Dr. Ford will address types of inflammation and pain, various causes and diagnoses, and, of course, how to decrease it without the use of narcotics.
