Young Explorers Winter Camp 2017-2018 -- December 26, 2017: "Dino P.I."
Each day we will explore a different science topic utilizing all the expertise the Museum has to offer! Classes are for campers in K through 5th grade. Classes will meet from 9am-4pm. Aftercare is available from 4 pm-5pm for an additional fee.
December 26, 2017 Ready to solve some prehistoric mysteries? Grab your sleuthing cap and your magnifying glass because we are going to be traveling through New Mexicos Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods to seek clues on how dinosaurs lived. Be prepared to trek through forests, swamps, and seas as we get to the bottom of our prehistoric conundrum! We will even visit the behind-the-scenes Geoscience collection to see fossils not on display in the museum! AFTER CARE Aftercare will be available from 4:00-5:00 p.m. for an additional fee of $10 per day. Aftercare payment must be paid by cash or check on the first day of camp at 8:30 a.m. No discount available for member. WINTER WEATHER EVENTS Safety is our primary concern for both our teachers and your campers. We will follow Museum protocol in regards to weather related closure or delays. In the event of Museum closure or delay, make-up classes will be offered if possible and at the sole discretion of Museum personnel. Please call the Museum Weather Number at 841-2800 option 8 for delays and closures. YOU NEED TO KNOW All campers must be picked-up by 4:00 PM. Campers still at the Winter Science Program after 4:10 PM will automatically be enrolled in our aftercare program. Payment for aftercare must be made by cash or check at time of camper pick-up.
- All classes are scheduled rain or shine. - Kindergartners must have experience in full-day classes before attending. - Campers are required to provide their own lunch - Campers must wear appropriate shoes (no open-toed shoes, such as sandals). - To inquire regarding any camp openings or scholarship availability, contact Charlotte Rohrbough at crohrbough@outlook.com or call (505) 841-2848 - Your email confirmation of purchase from BPT is your receipt, do print it up and bring with you on your first day of camp.
Online ticket sales stop 7 days before the event. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science reserves the right to cancel any event that does not reach a minimum of 6 participants. A full refund will be given if the session is cancelled by the museum due to low enrollment.
