Dances & Elegies for Classical Guitar - Francesco Mariani
Francesco Mariani presents an evening of dances and elegies for classical guitar - featuring J.S Bach's Chaconne, described by violinist Gidon Kremer as "a dance of life and death, inside the architecture of a cathedral" as well as the romantic works of Mertz and Schubert, the neuvo tango of Astor Piazzolla, the dissonance and contrast of Cuba's Leo Brouwer and the Brazillian masterpieces of Heitor Villa-Lobos.
Francesco teaches at the Purcell School for Young Musicians and directs the Stoke Newington Guitar Festival which returns for the fourth time in 2018.
