Announcing the San Francisco Premiere of Alaska Revisited. One Performance Only: Saturday, January 26th, 3pm. The performance will be at the Delancey Street Foundation Screening Room, 600 Embarcadero, San Francisco.
Alaska Revisited has toured the West Coast and Europe since 1994. Humorous and animated in its telling, Alaska Revisited is the true story of a young woman (Senum) whose search for answers about her wandering life, leads her to the Alaskan wilderness. Traveling over 1500 miles and hauling a sled weighing 160 pounds, this 27 year old self made pioneer finds joy and indescribable strength as she struggles with the elements. Battling sub freezing temperatures, exhaustion and the vast loneliness of the Alaskan wild, Senum navigates her way down the frozen Yukon River in a one woman odyssey. The trials and triumphs are hers, alone. This performance features photos and video from the expedition. Join Senum as she weaves a courageous, heartfelt tale about self-discovery and the power of the human spirit.
About the Playwright/Performer: San Francisco native, Reinette Senum is described as a renaissance woman. Senum has commercial fished in the Alaskan Gulf, trained Iditarod sled dogs, and founded and organized The American Women's Trans-Antarctic Expedition. A world traveler and writer, Senum lives in Northern California, where she has been involved in local politics since 2008; first by being elected a city councilwoman, and later the Mayor of Nevada City.
