And the Healing Power of Music

    You are invited to join Singer/Songwriter and Music Therapist, Tom Dalton and friends on March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Labyrinth Cafe in Fort Lauderdale for a Music Therapy Benefit Concert!  Sponsored by VITAS Community Connections, proceeds from the concert will benefit VITAS hospice patients and their families and bereaved children and teens that receive music therapy services. Tom will be performing with his band, original songs that celebrate life and the healing power of music!
     This concert entitled "A Celebration of Life and the Healing Power of Music" is dedicated to our patients and families and the songs will be honoring those that have lost a loved one.  During the concert, Tom will be presenting a slide show with photographs from families that have lost a loved one.  If you or someone you know would like to submit a photograph for the slide show, please send to Tom at mtspace@bellsouth.net and we will be honored to include it in the concert presentation.  
    Tom Dalton is a native South Floridian and grew up in Palm Beach County. He is a singer/songwriter and guitarist and has performed his songs from Florida to California receiving critical acclaim as a songwriter and performer with ten independently released CD's.  Tom is also a board certified music therapist and a licensed mental health counselor and has used music to help people of all ages.  Dalton's work has been featured in newspapers, radio and television and he will be performing his original compositions that celebrate the lives of those with whom he has worked.  
    Working as a music therapist for over 20 years, Tom has used his music therapy skills to help a variety of people. Currently, he is the music therapist and Music Therapy Internship Director at VITAS Innovative Hospice Care of Broward and specializes in working with hospice patients and their families. Tom has helped children, adolescents and adults with a variety of needs using the power of music to help transform their lives. Tom has also worked with people with developmental disabilities, Autism, Downs Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, traumatic brain injury, learning disabilities and mental illness. He specializes in helping children and families who have experienced grief and loss in their lives from the death of a loved one.
    Tom's band include some of south Florida's top musicians including Rick Rossano on Bass and vocals, Paul Feurer on electric guitar, Kim Wendt on keyboards and vocals, Bill Supino on drums and vocalist Ashley Carol. The songs chronicle Dalton's work over the years and celebrate the lives of the people he has worked with and how music has had a transforming effect on their lives.  If you believe in the power of music, come treat yourself to an evening of truly inspirational music!
