This time around they will be joined by the pop-jam powerhouse Madaila out of Burlington, VT. Be sure to put your dancing boots on and eat plenty of snacks beforehand so that you have as much energy as possible to groove. THERE WILL BE LOTS OF GROOVING!
Let's Be Leonard-
Let's Be Leonard is a five piece outfit from Saratoga Springs, NY who's been traveling across the country and raging the stage, with their upbeat, emotive songwriting and communicative exploration, since their 2015 debut album "Cow." was released.
They're influences lie in the jazz greats, along with the Grateful Dead, indie music selections, and a hearty community feel that flirts with elements of humor between everything they do. Genre is no barrier as their catalogue of almost entirely original material finds routes in jazz, blues, bluegrass, pop, and funk among others still.
On the road Leonard's an explosion of joy wrapped up in one little band. Their goofy and expressive playing of catchy, original music has grabbed attention from Nashville, TN to Austin, TX to Appleton, WI to Denver, CO to San Jose, CA. They've been all across the whole dang country y'all!
They are currently preparing to embark on a fall tour across much of the midwest as they begin to promote the release of their sophomore record 'Static' due out summer 2018!
Psych pop juggernaut Madaila is upbeat, synth-heavy, and catchy. Vocal skill and range are immediately apparent. But in the tradition of Prince and The Talking Heads, an ornateness and heaviness expose Madaila's complexity and depth. Tight arrangements and multi-instrumental performances showcase musical minds at work.
When Madaila is on stage, spontaneous expression and contagious melody coexist. The freakier elements of the band come to the surface as the five-piece explores the deeper possibilities lying within their concise-recorded material. The bands improvisational power gives each song the capacity to have its form pushed to the edges of comfort, or uplifting peaks.
Madaila released its debut, The Dance, in 2015. The band generated buzz with large hometown shows held on a ferry, in Burlingtons City Hall, in an aquarium, and on a downtown city block for their festival, Madaila on Main; as well as with festival plays at Mountain Jam, Clusterfest, Summer Camp, Frendly Gathering, Grand Point North, Waking Windows, Otis Mountain & Burlington Discover Jazz. Madaila has shared the stage with artists such as The Flaming Lips, Nathaniel Rateliff, Mac DeMarco, BØRNS, Grace Potter, Twiddle, Deer Tick, and Matisyahu. Madaila is part of Future Fields, an artist-run label and management group based in Burlington, Vermont.
