Samohi Theatre is proud to present "Zoot Suit" by Luis Valdez. Considered one of the most important Chicano plays, Zoot Suit originally premiered in Los Angeles in 1978, shattering box office records. It went on to Broadway, and in 1981, a film version of the extremely popular play was made.
This entertaining play mixes fantastic music and dance numbers with socially relevant and powerful issues. Set in Los Angeles in 1942, Zoot Suit tells the story of Henry Reyna and the 38th Street Gang who were unfairly tried for the Sleepy Lagoon murder. Parent discretion advised for children under the age of 12.

UPDATE as of 11/3: The Nov 3, 4 and 5 shows are SOLD OUT. Ticketholders have the option to turn in extra tickets at the Box Office table for resale prior to show start; if so, we may have a few extra seats available just prior to show start, but this is not guaranteed. (Box office opens 45 min. before show start.)
PARKING: 1. Metered street parking is available on Lincoln Blvd (enter at the Michigan and 7th gate). 2. Limited free parking is available on campus In the North Lot (enter at Olympic gate accessible from 4th/Olympic, quick left up to North Lot) and along tennis courts, first come first serve. 3. Guaranteed parking is available at the Civic Center flat lot and structure on 4th St between Olympic Dr and Pico. From the Civic, walk across 4th St to enter Samohi at the 4th St Gate and walk to east side of campus (we are unable to validate pkg at the Civic Ctr).
LOCATION: The Humanities Center is located on the 2nd floor of the English Building on the east side of campus closest to the Michigan gate accessible from Lincoln Blvd.
ATTN Parents: please be advised that this show is not appropriate for children under age 12.
Children under age 4 can be a distraction for both actors and other audience members.
