Sanctuary City
Our home city is one of nearly 500 sanctuary cities in the United States; places that defiantly assert the complex idea that America is all of us. New York has always been a place where everyone has a story worth knowing, and traditions and laws are informed by that knowledge. The Sanctuary City is not a perfect place, but it engages openness as a way of healing, diverting the politics of division into efforts of creativity and ingenuity. We experience this as that famous NYC energy!
