The chance that all these artists would be able to visit PGH on the same night is insane. Join us for a very special once and be transported.
ELYSIA CRAMPTON is an Aymara-American electronic musician and poet known for utilizing wide samples and arrangements with her vocal performances to bring to light survival and Latinx culture. Her sonic influences trace Southern hip hop/crunk and Latin metal, to North American psychedelic folk, neo-classical music, ragtime, early blues, and her familys avant-garde records and collection of huayno and cumbia tapes. She's performed and lectured around the globe at MOMA PS1, The Art School Glasgow, CTM Berlin, Moogfest, RBMA Festival and more. Her latest Spots Y Escupitajo is now out on The Vinyl Factory.
HALEEK MAUL is a 20 y/o American rapper & producer. Having spent most of his life in Barbados, his music is heavily influenced by a variety of sounds outside of the rap genre that range from electronic to dancehall and back. Noisey described him as "the new hustler of horrorcore" while Stereogum finds his sound "pushing rhythmic boundaries across dark, delicately-arranged soundscapes". Also known as Kidgns (Kid Genius) he is a founding member of the collective called On the Tanz, and has collaborated with the likes of Deniro Farrar, Saul Williams, Shady Blaze, Hot Sugar, and Prince Midas.
EMBACI is a young singer-songwriter and producer from New York. Shes part of NON Worldwide, a collective of African artists and of the diaspora launched by Chino Amobi, who use sound as their primary media to articulate the visible and invisible structures that create binaries in society, and in turn distribute power. Embacis influences draw from etymology, hexapoda, classical composition and jazz.
D0UZE (Dyani D0uze) is a Brooklyn-based DJ and multimedia artist working in sound art, music production, film editing, film distribution and curatorial projects. She has presented her work at Red Bull Music Academy Festival, Brooklyn Museum, The Whitney Museum, AFROPUNK AFTER DARK, and ALL GOLD Listening Room at MoMa PS1, among other programs. As a member of the New Negress Film Society, Dyani has presented her films at Anthology Film Archives, Made in NY Media Center, and Cooper Union as part of a series presented by Black Radical Imagination. She is also the co-creator of MAMI, an exhibition programming series that began at Knockdown Center in August of 2016.
ANNA AZIZZY is a Pgh-based performance artist, video artist, and experimental musician. Her work creates space where laughter leads to learning, and she is passionate about inserting femininity, humor, tenderness, joy, life, queerness, honesty (etc!) into the spaces she occupies. She co-runs a DIY venue, WelcomBak.
