Q1Go Presents: Her(e)
Q1Go Productions presents a staged reading of Her(e) by Nathaniel Foster.
This reading is the first in Q1Go's series of commissioned works by student playwrights and will be presented in partnership with City of Aurora Cultural Services at the brand new People's Building performance space. The script is being developed by former Q1Go actor Nathaniel Foster, a playwright and director currently finishing up his BA in Theatre Arts at the University of Northern Colorado.
The play focuses on Colorado teens experiencing homelessness - specifically the 40% of homeless teens who identify as LGBTQ+ and who often lack options in terms of finding a shelter or safe house that accepts and respects them. Her(e) explores teen homelessness through the eyes of a young protagonist, Elizabeth, a 16-year-old recently displaced from home after coming out. The reading will be performed with minimal staging and features local high school performers who have been working in connection with the playwright to develop the piece.
The People's Building is located at 9995 E. Colfax Ave.
