31st Annual UT NROTC Alumni Reunion
Since 1985 alumni from the Naval ROTC unit at the University of Texas have been getting together annually to visit with old classmates and shipmates to swap sea stories, have some good Texas BBQ, go root for the home team and recognize the next generation of Navy and Marine Corps officers who follow in our wake and who will, shortly, be alumni themselves. We've always tried to make it fun with adding extra activities for this special weekend over the years. This year we start on Thursday night with the Navy League dinner at the Austin Women's Club. Friday we begin with a golf scramble in the morning, pitting Navy against the Marine Corps in a best ball match at Star Ranch in Hutto, TX. In the afternoon there is a Crow's Nest meeting at the hotel. That night we honor special alumni, who have distinguished themselves in the military or civilian world and/or have been of great service to our alumni organization, with a dinner at the Austin Country Club. We encourage others, who don't attend, to get together at Scholz Garten, or some other venue, that night. Saturday is the main event day with presentation of scholarships to our midshipmen and officer candidates. We know when the football game starts this year (5pm with Kansas) so Saturday's schedule is pretty well set now. Check our website, www.utnrotcalum.org for any changes. Those are all the planned activities. Classes that would like to make special plans are encouraged to use our website to get the word out. Sign up early so you don't miss anything. Some events and other items are limited in availability. This will be our fourth year using online registration. We hope it will provide you with a bit more convenient method (or certainly an alternate method) of registering. Have fun!
