Valentine's Pre-Heat Swing Dance
A swing dance, supported by a live ten piece live brass band, the Roadside Attraction, is presented and promoted by Herding Cats, LLC and supported with sponsorship from Langlois Pianos. The event is Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 600 PM to 900 PM at the Bremerton Eagles Club, upper level. It is not necessary to be a member of the Bremerton Eagles Club to attend this public dance.
Doors on the upper level open at 500 PM to allow early seating, access to the bar, purchasing Italian takeout food from Boston Pizza for delivery at the dance, and time to purchase art, jewelry and textiles. Table and chair locations may be moved, with assistance of event staff, to accommodate seating large groups. Small children, under supervision of adults, are welcome at this event.
See ticket prices above for all ages. Tickets will be available at the door if the dance does not sell out. There is a limited occupancy rating for this dance of 300 persons.
There will be a People's Choice prize awarded at the second band break to the best dancing couple. There is no charge to enter this contest. Inquire at the entry check-in for a contest number if interested. See images below for this prize - an original glass piece produced specifically for this dance by Lisa Stirrett Glass Art Studio.
There is a very pleasant, full service bar in a separate room behind the dance room. Government issued identification is required to show proof of age 21 to enter the bar. The bar has an excellent view of Sinclair Inlet and Port Orchard.
The dance room includes a stage and a wood dance floor with tables and chairs placed bar room style in the "U" shaped carpeted areas around the dance floor. Original art, textiles, flowers and jewelry will be for sale from 500 PM till 930 PM in the lobby and the bar.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available for consumption only in the bar, lobby and carpeted areas of the dance room. Alcoholic beverages are permitted only in the bar.
The Bremerton Eagles Club is located at 6th and Washington Streets, behind the Norm Dicks government building. Parking is free at the adjacent Norm Dicks Building parking lot for this event. Located nearby is additional inexpensive parking in lots.
The brass band, Roadside Attraction, was formed in 1979 and is the longest continually running band in the Puget Sound Region. See more about this band at:
