Ashfield Film Festival 2017 - Night 1
The Ashfield Film Festival starts off on Friday with a special showing of Complicit followed by a panel discussion.
Official Selection for the Human Rights Watch Film Festivals in New York, London, and Toronto - Shot verite style in China, Complicit takes the viewer on an intimate journey as we follow teenagers from remote villages unchanged by time, to the factory floors where our electronics are manufactured. Witness Yi Yeting, a former worker with occupational leukemia, fight for his life and the lives of others as he takes on the world's largest electronics manufacturer Foxconn, and the world's most profitable company Apple. With incredible access and undercover footage, Complicit shows the human cost to our wired lives.
Panel discussion following the film with Co-Director and Producer Heather White, Screenwriter and Film Editor Christopher Seward, and local experts in the fields of labor, economics and China.
