About New Expressive Works:-
New Expressive Works (N.E.W.) is a 501©3 non-profit organization that celebrates the creative power of diverse professional independent performing artists, by providing critical studio space for artistic research, education, and public performances.

Since inception in 2012, N.E.W., founded by Subashini Ganesan, a South Asian Singaporean immigrant to the USA, has been grounded in equity and access driving artistic expression and excellence. N.E.W. serves a needed and unique function in the Portland artscape. N.E.W. celebrates and supports multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary, multi-genre independent performing artists who teach, incubate, and perform bold expressions of their artistic practice. N.E.W.s positive and uplifting programming provides equal access to and visibility for diverse art-forms that are often seen only as ethnic art-forms, identified with foreign cultures, and not appreciated for their artistic merit. N.E.W. is also the home to an intensive Portland urban residency program that annually offers 8 choreographers 6 months of free rehearsal space, a modest stipend, and a culminating weekend performance to showcase their new creations. Annually over 200 performing artists and 5000 diverse members of the public (as audience member or students) constitute the rich artistic tapestry of N.E.W.
