Hawaii International Music Festival: "Tastes, Sights, and Sounds of the Big Island"
Join Hawaii International Music Festival for their season finale!
Experience a one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary concert, highlighting an all-star classical music crew, including AMY SHOREMOUNT-OBRA (Internationally Acclaimed Metropolitan Opera Soprano and daughter-in-law of Lorie Obra of Rustys Hawaiian Coffee), ERIC SILBERGER (Internationally Acclaimed Virtuoso Violinist and prizewinner in the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition), SUNG CHAN CHANG (Associate Principal cellist of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra), MANUEL CASTILLO (Mexican Tenor and founder of Ă“pera Guadalajara), and CARLIN MA (distinguished pianist and Artistic Program Director). Opening the concert will be special guest and Internationally known Bandoneon Tango Virtuoso, JP JOFRE, hailed and highlighted by New York Times.
Local talents of taste, sight, and sounds will be highlighted. Paired with the music will be photography by Carlin Ma and special guest, Ken Goodrich. Free samples of Hawaiian Crown (cacao) and Rusty's Hawaiian Coffee will tickle the taste buds, priming all for a fun evening. Local musical spotlight will be Hawaiian songs by Queen Liliuokalani.
This concert will be to raise awareness and proceeds, supporting Lili'uokalani Gardens efforts to maintain, improve, and create community events in Hilo.
