A CONVERSATION WITH CHRISTINA CRAWFORD
A figure who has remained elusive for over 30 years, CHRISTINA CRAWFORD will make a rare public appearance in Las Vegas on Friday, Nov. 30 at 9PM with "A Conversation with Christina Crawford" at the Rampart Casino at the Resort in Summerlin. Crawford will screen her new documentary "Surviving Mommie Dearest" the night before picking up the Silver Screen Award from the Nevada Film Festival. Ms. Crawford will introduce the film in the Grand Ballroom and take questions from the audience after the screening followed by a meet-and-greet.
CHRISTINA CRAWFORD is a best-selling author, actress and social justice activist who began her long career at an early age. She went from the theater, where she won a Sarah Siddons Award as best young actress for her performance in the Chicago company of "Barefoot In The Park, to perform in films, TV, a soap opera, and then to become a producer. As a businesswoman in Idaho she has owned and run a successful country inn and had her own weekly northwest entertainment TV series. Ms Crawford has a masters degree in Communication Management from the Annenberg School at University of Southern California. She is perhaps best known as the author of the best-selling "Mommie Dearest" which went on to become a cult classic film starring Faye Dunaway.
"SURVIVING MOMMIE DEAREST" is a documentary based on a one-woman multimedia play written by and starring best-selling author, Christina Crawford. It covers not only 100 years of entertainment and show business history, but also issues of social justice. The documentary is based on three of her best-selling books, Mommie Dearest, Survivor, and No Safe Place. The documentary features long forgotten home movies and historical photos of both Joan and Christina Crawford.
