IMPROV CLASS

The Basement Theatre offers 6 week improv classes to help you hone your skills of listening, speaking and performance.

IMPROV 1 - learn the basics of the improv through warm-ups, exercises and improv games! This class focuses on the work of Viola Spolin and Keith Johnstone. The class ends in your own graduation performance!

IMPROV 2 - Delve deeper into improvisational acting, character and scene work. This class focuses on the technique of improv acting based on the teachings of The Annoyance and Improv Olympic. For your graduation you will join The Basement players for a performance!

IMPROV 3 - Long form / Chicago Style improv. In this class we focus on the many forms and formats of improv performance. Students learn "HAROLD", the signature format from iO in Chicago. Students will have a chance to create their own forms and perform them for a graduation show!
