Learn how to make an amazing pie crust with Natalie Galatzer of Bike Basket Pies at Pot + Pantry.
We'll start by eating fresh pie and discussing the differences between butter, lard, and shortening crusts and the advantages of using different liquids. Natalie will share all of her dough-making tricks. Got a question about making the perfect pie? This is the time to ask! After that we'll all make our own pie dough.
The class size is limited to 10 people so you'll get lots of attention.
The $40 fee includes all of the ingredients, the dough that you'll make in the class, a Bike Basket Pies recipe booklet so you know what to do with that dough, and a pie dough blender so you can make more at home!
*Bike Basket Pies is a one-woman business. For two years, Natalie hustled handheld handmade pies by bicycle on the streets of San Francisco. Though she doesn't hustle those pies anymore, she currently sells her handmade recipe booklet and teaches the occasional small group of folks how to make the best pie dough they can. While she was making the pies, she was named Daily Candy's Sweetest Thing in Food in 2009, was featured in Sunset Magazine, on SFGate.com and on the Cooking Channel.
*Pot + Pantry is a wee boutique in the Mission specializing in new and secondhand kitchenware, founded by Donna Suh in 2010. It was named the Best Kitchen Shop by 7x7 Magazine, Top 100 SF shops by the San Francisco Chronicle, and has been featured in Food & Wine Magazine.
Refund policy:
If you are unable to attend, please let us know by email (info@potandpantry.com) at least 48 hours in advance.
We will refund your full ticket fee within 48 hours.
If you are unable to attend this workshop, and there is less than 48 hours before the event, you are welcome to give your ticket to someone else. That person must check in at the door to indicate they are using your ticket, so we can check your name off the list.
We will happily try to work with you and offer your ticket to our waiting list, however cannot guarantee finding a replacement less than 48 hours prior to the event.
Unfortunately, no-shows and late cancellations will not be eligible for a refund.
