With a musical career of over 25 years, Jim Beckwith is a well-versed singer/songwriter in various genres of music, including Folk, World, Electronica, Yoga Music, Ballads and Kirtan, or devotional chant. Beckwith just released his 8th album, a chant and lyrical hybrid named Be Love a collaboration of lush vocals and strings with veteran artist and composer, Hans Christian.
Jim Beckwith is an accomplished musician and songwriter. His love of music and yoga has inspired him to focus on bringing live music to yoga events and festivals around the world. Jims music is soulful and evocative of healing and inner awakening. He mixes mantra chants and English lyrics with a melodic and accessible tapestry of sound, exotic instrumentation and undulating rhythms.
A compelling lyricist with a voice that soars from high to low with the greatest of ease, Jim is a yogi and musician devoted to songs of the heart. Lovelution is a favorite of Yogis and Maybe Man features more of the singer/songwriter-style tunes as well.

Hannah is known for her profound devotion to WAKING UP to the sacred that permeates everything, her nurturing way of weaving ancient wisdom + transformational ritual into everyday living, her epic storytelling and sweet Bhakta voice that stirs deep in your soul, and her teachings focus on compassion -- reflected throughout her work as a teacher, activist and mother.
Her classes skillfully weave mantra, pranayama, meditation, mudra, and philosophy throughout intelligently-sequenced, alignment-based flows - and her studies span traditions of raja, tantra, hatha yoga, as well as anatomy, ayurveda, the neuroscience of mindfulness, and much more, including various mystical traditions. Her classes seek to empower the yogin not only to become vital in body and clear in mind - but encourage the rediscovery of that grace which is already present within and throughout.
Hannah has been a featured presenter at Symbiosis, Bhakti Fest, Shakti Fest, Electric Forest, and other festivals. She is co-creator and teacher of the beloved Roots of Yoga Teacher Trainings (50, 200 and 300 hour trainings). She also leads the Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training at Mount Madonna Center, and transformational retreats in India, Bali, Mexico, Guatemala, California and beyond. Hannah has been voted as one of the Top Three Best Yoga Instructors in the Santa Cruz Good Times for the past five years in a row, and serves on the board of the Yoga For All Movement, offering yoga + mindfulness to the homeless, incarcerated and underserved.

Join Yoga Church Mondays at the Santa Cruz Veteran's Hall (a lovely space downtown across the street from Verve Coffee on Front St, next to the post office).
These classes will have most of the same elements of Hannah's beloved Monday night former Live DJ Bhakti Flow class, integrating a HUGE DOSE of LOVE along with skillfully sequenced alignment-based flows, myth, mantra, amazing music and more.
YOGA CHURCH: it's a new paradigm ya'll - this is independent yoga for free thinkers, truth seekers, warriors and lovers. Atheists, agnostics, religious devotees, mystics and spiritual seekers alike are all welcome to this church - so don't let the name throw you off. The name came when I posed the question last year to a blissful post-Monday night class of yogis: "if you could name what we do here, what would you call it?" Many wonderful ideas flowed from this creative group, and nearly all of them used words like "church", "temple" or "ceremony" - citing that just calling these Monday night experiences "yoga" was not enough. Although it's all yoga, I get their point - we live in a world where people are calling various things/styles/methods/brands yoga, so it's helpful to be descriptive. And as you all pointed out, the incredible energy and transformation we co-create on these Monday nights should be honored with a name that honors the magic, the community, the reverence, the heart of these sacred gatherings...
